Mornings

Mornings are hard. I think my main goal this week to get going earlier to try to not be as rushed in the morning. I'm really, really good at hitting the "snooze" button on my alarm clock every freaking time, until I have to sprint through the house and barely drink a cup of coffee in order to make it to work vaguely on time. I managed five minutes earlier today, which is still frighteningly better than yesterday.

So, here is my plan: set out my clothes (work and gym), make my lunch and breakfast, and get the coffee maker ready for the morning. I also need to refuse to set the snooze, which means I should move my alarm clock somewhere where I have to actually get up to find it. We'll see how that goes.

Otherwise, things are going well this week. Today was another good day, despite my late start. Weigh-in (for the first time in more than a month) tomorrow!

Tuesday Tumble

My friends and I have a tradition of walking and then enjoying dinner out on Tuesdays. It's a great way to be active, but I need to stop having a mug of beer after the walk, as that's what kills my calorie count each Tuesday. Diet Coke is the goal for tonight, though I have enough calorie points to have a glass of beer, too. If I stick with the salad.

Slowly but surely I'm getting back into a positive routine. Tomorrow I start with strength training again, and Thursday I'm trying to get to the gym for a cardio routine. My overall goal for the week, however, is to make sure I get up earlier. No more sleeping until the last instant-- it's not as healthy a choice and always puts me behind in the mornings.

Daily calorie goal: 1400
Actual calorie intake (but this was with exercise and includes the beer): 1545

I'm back!

No pun intended. My back has been given the all clear and I can exercise again. My parents are also no longer visiting, so I'm eating healthier. Home cooking for some reason never tastes as good low-fat, and my father is an amazing cook. I've eaten well three days in a row, exercised a little, and am getting ready to do a yoga routine now after two sets of basic crunches. I'm starting slow so I don't aggravate my back again. That was one of the most frightening experiences ever.
